Bruce Riker

Bruce L. Age 62 of McDowell Place, Elmira NY, passed away Friday May 11 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Bruce was born December 12, 1938, son of Alfred Sr. and Achash Gorton Riker. Together with his wife, they owned and operated Riker's Restaurant in Elmira Heights for 7 years. In the past he was employed as a security guard with National Homes, a member of the Elmira Heights Jaycees, and was retired from Totem Taxi after 28 years of service as a driver. He enjoyed model shipbuilding and painting with both oil and watercolor. Bruce formerly attended Maranatha Bible Chapel and was an active participant in the Oasis Church in Elmira. Surviving Bruce are his wife of 38 years, Elaine Byam Riker; a daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Tony Rosa of Hendersonville TN; sons and daughter-in-law: Nevil and Joanne Riker of Gallitin TN; LaMonte Riker of New York City; Adriel Riker of Elmira, Moriah Riker of Hornell; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Bruce were his parents and brothers: Alfred Riker Jr and Ronald Riker. Friends are invited to call at Ballard & Lindgren Funeral Home on Tuesday May 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday May 16 at 11 AM with Rev. Mark Dieterle officiating. The Committal Service will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
