David Saxbury Obituary

David Michael Age 40 of Erin, NY Dedicated Local Union #112 sheet metal worker and Apprenticeship Teacher - Coordinator. He was a devoted employee of Southern Tier Fabricators. David has gone home in the arms of his Lord Monday, October 1st, 2001 surrounded by his loving family at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Elmira, NY on the 29th day of September 1961. Surviving David are: his loving wife and friend Michelle Saxbury, his two children whom he was very proud of Nicholas and Hilarie, mother and stepfather Patricia and Ed Arnold, Dick and Dawn Saxbury all of Erin, NY, mother-in-law Connie (Ed) Kriner of Smyrna, TN, father-in-law Russell (Marlene) Sawbridge of New Field, NY, brother Marty Saxbury of Millport, NY, stepsisters Audrey (Wayne) Sherman of Huntley, IL, Candee Grover of Erin, NY, Becky (Jack) Rugaber of Breesport, NY, Suzanne (Matt) Thorpe of Erin, NY, grandmother Louise Saxbury of Elmira and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many wonderful friends and co-workers whom he cherished. David is predeceased by his stepbrothers Lenny Share and Art Share. Family and friends are invited to call at the Hand in Hand Free Methodist Church, 390 Warnick Street, Elmira, NY Wednesday, October 3rd, 2001 2:00 to 4:00PM and 6:00 to 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held there Thursday, October 4th, 2001 at 1:00PM. The Reverend James Payne will officiate. Those knew David best for living his life to the absolute fullest, taking the time to love and thoroughly enjoy everything around him. Dave was admired by all for his strength and courage as he faced each and every day. He was strongly devoted and very active to the Hand in Hand Free Methodist Church. His strong faith in God helped to give him, his family, and those around him strength. He had a keen sense of humor that was always present even during his difficult days. Dave was a true lover of the outdoors.Being an avid hunter, he always loved to seek out the big bucks. Most of all his family would remember him for being the best father, and very devoted husband. You will be in our hearts forever. We love you. God Bless. In lieu of Flowers those wishing may make memorials in David Michael Saxbury's name to his children's Scholarship Fund to be announced. Those wishing may light a Candle of Memory at www.olthof.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. Elmira, NY.
