Edward J., IV
Age 22, of Elmira, Saturday, August 9, 2008 very unexpectedly as the result of an ATV accident. Eddie was born in Elmira on July 17, 1986, a son of Edward J., III and Barbara Spallone O'Connell. In addition to his parents he is survived by brother Joshua M. O'Connell, with daughter Jayliann; sister Briana E. O'Connell; maternal grandparents, Margaret Spallone, Anthony Spallone, III, with his wife Marjorie; paternal grandparents, Edward J., Jr. and Charlotte O'Connell all of Elmira; aunts and uncles, Anthony IV, Michael, Philip, Roberta and Paul Spallone, Margaret Watson, Andre Wallace, Charles Ramos, David O'Connell, Carol Drew, Maureen O'Connell, Patrick O'Connell, Mary O'Connell and Jennifer O'Connell-Griffin; along with numerous cousins and friends. Eddie was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy, Class of 2004. He loved art and music. Eddie has been employed at Chemung Supply Co., for the past 3 years. Eddie always had a smile on his face and having a warm, giving, personality loved helping people no matter what the task. A kind loving, son, brother, grandson, and friend, Eddie will always be loved and never forgotten. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at a time to be announced.

eddie was one of the most vibrant, quick-witted,upbeat true characters that i've ever met. you couldn't possibly be around him for 5 minutes and not laugh at least once. his huge smile and wacky expressions will live on in my memory, until one day i see him again and nail him with a fresh noogie.

My Sweet Sweet brown-eyed baby boy....there are no words a mother can utter when her heart is unable to bear the pain of the loss of her child....especially a child as you. I was tremendously blessed to have you for the very very short 22 years I did ..at times this all seems so surreal like a never ending nightmare where you are no longer able to audibly scream only with horrific agony begging and begging for it not to be true or for it to end....you will never be forgotten for as long as I am breathing everyone will know your name you were my very special boy and Ill love you forever and until I hold you in my arms again your soul will carry me through. I love you so much. Words cannot describe how much i miss you,
every single minute of the day you are on my mind. You have always supported me in everything i have done. Every single time i dance now is for you.. in which i will continue. Everynight I mourn for you. You will live on in my heartt. I know you are always with me even though physically you are not. I hope I make you proud. I always have a mental image of your smile in my head, it helps me get through the day. Living on without one of my big brothers is the hardest thing ive ever had to do, you are impossible to forget. Words dont even began to cover how bad i just want to be able to hug you one last time and hear you say bri i love you. The Only thing that keeps me level headed now is your memory, and the pictures all over of you haha and the smell of joop, knowing you wore it. Oh god i miss you. To the entire O'Connell family, Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought of Eddie. He made me laugh and smile everytime I worked with him at the Green Derby & when I saw him out and about. I remember him showing up one day and he couldn't wait to show me his car!! He was so proud. I love that kid!!! Such a contagious smile and a sweetness about him that I will never forget.
