Frances Schrom Obituary

Frances H. "Fran" Age 69, of Redwing Lane, Horseheads, and formerly a longtime resident of Chambers Rd. in Catlin, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 14, 2005. Fran is survived by her husband, Robert Schrom with whom she married May 25, 1956; also surviving are their children, Theresa Schrom of Elmira, NY, Robert Schrom Jr. "Butch" of Elmira Heights, NY, Kathleen Schrom of Horseheads, NY; and grandsons, Joseph and Craig Schrom; sisters, Patricia (Ray) Thompson of Elmira, NY, Rose Comfort of Johnsonburg, NY, Sr. Janice Morgan of Pittsford, NY, Sr. Carol Morgan of Clarence, NY, Peg (Don) Schrom of Elmira, NY, Janice (Bill) Grenier of Punta Gorda, FL; sister-in-law, Marjorie Johnston of Elmira, NY; also several nieces, nephews and many close, caring friends and cousins. Fran was born Nov. 25, 1935 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Alva and Helen (Ellis) Morgan. A woman of strong faith, Fran was a devoted communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads. She was a member and active volunteer of the Horseheads Elks Club Lodge #2297 where she was always available to lend a smile and helping hand. Fran enjoyed crafts, crocheting and she loved to dance. Of her many joys, the most important joy was surrounding herself with her loving family and friends. She was a caring lady, full of hospitality and always ready to put others before herself. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, Saturday, April 16, 2005, from 6-8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 17, 2005, from 3-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, on Monday, April 18, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery. Those wishing may express their sympathy with memorials to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Rd. Corning , NY 14830. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
