Gary Kirton Obituary
Gary S. Kirton, 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home. A native of Montour Falls, NY, he was the husband of Susan (Meeker) Kirton. Mr. Kirton served in the Army Reserves and was a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church. For many years he was an electrical contractor, operating his own business, Kirton Electric. Upon moving to Hector, he became the organizer for IBEW Local 241 in Ithaca, NY. In 2008 he and his family opened Kirton's Farm Market. Gary, an avid outdoorsman, was actively involved with Fur, Fin and Feathers Sportsman Club (serving as President 1987-1988) and the local chapter of Ducks Unlimited.
Leaving behind to cherish special memories along with his wife, Susan, are their two daughters, Susan and Margaret (Neil) Denning; a brother, James (Nancy) and two sisters: Kristine Kirton-Grosso and Jayne (Martin) Bernhardt.
Mr. Kirton was preceded in death by his brother Roger.
A memorial service will be held at Hector Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen.

Dear Kris --
I am so sorry to learn of Gary's passing. He was such a good man, and I remember him often from my cherised days at RKB, his association with the company, and his friendships with the Kimball family. My deepest sympathies to you, hugs, and prayers.
