We can't go through our home without seeing Uncle George. From our wedding album with the heart felt photos to the portrait of Hal Holbrook reprising Mark Twain. His kindness to others, sweet nature and of course his humor made all those around him better.

Chris and the Lian Family:
I was so saddened to read of your Dad's passing. I met your Dad through the Elmira Kiwanis Club where he was a long-time member of the House & Reception Committee. Before he joined the club he would attend meetings as the Star-Gazette's photographer and take pictures of our high school Athletes of the Month. No one had his personality and sense of humor. He was a GREAT AND GOOD MAN in every sense of those words. He will be sorely missed.
God bless you and your family.

George was the photographer for our sons wedding. He always had a smile on his face and brought joy to everyone he knew. We were also fortunate to live accross the street from him for a while on Tiff Ave. He was a wonderful neighbor, and friend.

I remember George working for the Star Gazette when I was a Police Officer in Elmira. He had the warmest and most sincere smile on anyone I ever met. He was an asset to humanity and his profession. It was and honor to know him. God Bless him.

Was fortunate to run into George a number of times covering stories when I was at WENY. He always had a smile and a funny story to tell. God just gained a great photographer.

George was Mr. Reliable when it came to getting photos at the LPGA Corning Classic. Ready, willing and able to shoot any time and on hand every day all day during tourney week. His wit and sense of humor and his participation in a steady stream of banter and laughs with his "sidekick" Sy Leveen will live on in memory with all who worked in the Media Center. God rest him and God bless his wonderful family.

I had the pleasure of being in front of George's lenses, on more than one occasion. If my memory serves me correct he took my first picture for the Star-Gazette. I always enjoyed running into him when he was not retired & then in his retirement years. George was one of the finest persons I ever knew. My heartfelt condolences goes out to his family & friends for their loss.
