Timothy Riley Obituary

Timothy John Riley 1/8/1945 - 1/1/2011 How do you sum up the life of a man? His decency, kindness, love of all things Packers, his penchant for the Sci-Fi channel, and desire for nothing more than to visit with loved ones? A man who trapped muskrat and plucked many a fish from Port Washington Harbor during his boyhood in Wisconsin, who made yearly pilgrimages to Wyoming scouring the land for mighty bucks while hunting in Wyoming as an adult. A man who loved golf, built a cabin in northern Wisconsin with his good buddy, managed the finances scrupulously to put three kids through college and arranged the filing cabinet in alphabetical order, so that the wife he cherished would be able to manage the daily tasks of life a bit easier after he finally succumbed to kidney failure. He was all of this and much more to those who knew and loved him. Tim Riley's passing is a devastating loss. He was a great person who lived by a simple, straight-forward code of traditional values: honesty, respect, honor, hard work and most of all, family. They were his heart. He will be missed every day by his wife, Dorothy of 43 years; children, Tim Jr., Chris, and Shannon; daughters-in-law, Meg and Olya; granddaughters, Scout and Quinn and many relatives and friends. Deepest thanks extended to all those health professionals who helped Tim with his long and courageous battle with kidney disease. The list is extensive, but you know who you are. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to Tucson Medical Center Endowment (www.tmcfoundation.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (www.NKF.org). A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 22, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL,6910 E. Broadway.

Dorothy and Family,
We are so sorry about your loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. We were so happy and grateful to be able to meet Tim back in September for the first time, when he was doing well. What a full and wonderful life he lived. God bless you all, and take care.
Warmest Ragards,

I am one of Tim's classmates from Port Washington High School. Although we have lost touch over the years, I wanted to let the family know how much I appreciated his friendship during our high school years. His quick wit, infectous laugh, love of a good time and commitment to friends will always be remembered. On behalf of all his classmates in Port, know he will be remembered in our prayers. He added a special touch to our days.

Dot and Family, I heard the very sad news of Tim's passing from Norm Barker. It is so very hard to lose a loved one. It just hurts. He was the ultimate person and friend.

I have such great and wonderful memories of working with Timmie at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. I often have thought of Timmie throughout my life after I left the hospital. I have such great memories of going out with Tim and the boys. Of taking a afternoon off for lunch and barely making it home in the evening!! I have always said that Tim was a person who I could always count on if I was ever in need. I will always cherish his friendship and the memories he has left me.

I will be there on Saturday to celebrate Timmie's life.
