Harold Goodell Obituary

Harold William "Harry" Loving father, grandfather & brother Age 59, of Sayre, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2004. He was born October 8, 1944 in Clifton, NJ, the son of the late John H. and Eleanor (Fankhauser) Goodell. His brother, Robert John Goodell, predeceased Harold. He is survived by his loving children, John (Natalie) Goodell of Elmira, NY, Michelle (Charles) Niles, also of Elmira, NY, Lori Lynne Goodell, Timothy William Goodell of California; sister, June (Ernest) Plouse of Sayre, PA; along with five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. "Harry" as all knew him, was a Veteran of the US Navy and proudly served his country from 1964 to 1970. He retired from Pacific Bell as a lineman after several years of faithful service. In his earlier years, "Harry" enjoyed stock car racing and even raced his cars on several occasions. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved golfing and hunting. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., in Elmira, NY on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, from 3 to 6 p.m. The Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Goodell full Military Honors following the visitation. (6:00 p.m.) In accordance with his wishes, "Harry" will be cremated at the Southport Crematorium, Inc. at a time convenient for his family, and then he will be buried at sea.
