To the Family of Irma Lynch,

We are so sorry for the loss of your mother...we knew her not only as an excellent teacher to our children at Hoffman school, but as a friend at Paternosters' gatherings. She was always joyful, smart and classy. She will be well remembered by her many students and missed by her many friends. Our sympathy and prayers are with you all.

Mark and Paul,
I was so sorry to read of your mother's passing. She was a great lady. She was a mentor for me when I first began teaching at Diven School. Your Mom's room was across the hall and she was always there for me. She had a love for teaching and always made the day better. She was a person you enjoyed being with.

To the Lynch Family: Mrs. Lynch was my 5th grade teacher at George M. Diven school in Elmira way back in the 60's. I was hit by a car at Christmas time while I was a student in her class. Mrs. Lynch was probably my favorite teacher while at Diven school. She was lots of fun back in those days. After my recovery from the accident, upon my return to class, the kids made signs and it was a very pleasant welcome back after such a horrible experience of being in the hospital at age 10 during the holiday season; while my mother was 7 1/2 months pregnant with my baby sister. Please accept my sincere sympathies to your family and know that Irma was THE BEST teacher in Elmira. She made going to school a lot of fun. We had a project for dental health week and I couldn't think of an idea for a poster and Mrs. Lynch came up with a wonderful idea for me so I could design my poster. She was delightful and I was sorry to read about her passing in the site for the Star-Gazette. I live in the Rochester, NY area and don't subscribe to the paper so I read it online every day or almost every day. Best wishes to your family. Fifth grade wouldn't have been as fun without Mrs. Lynch for my teacher. God bless you all.

Irma (and Gene) were dear friends of ours with the Corning Gyro Group. We had many, many good times together over the years.

Mark and Paul,
Your mother was always a favorite of mine, and Jim really loved her. She had a great sense of humor, a love of family and was always welcoming.
In some respects, it is a blessing that she is no longer suffering, but that doesn't ease the ache in your hearts.
You have our love and sympathy.
