John Nolan Obituary

John Jack Age 86 of Horseheads NY, formerly of Wellsburg NY, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Jack was born May 24, 1915, son of John F. Nolan and Myrtilla Nolan Newcomer. He is survived by his wife Anna Miller Nolan with whom he shared a loving and devoted marriage for sixty-two years; that bond was strengthened even more over the past few years as Annie's health declined and Jack was right there taking care of her. In addition Jack is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Janice Nolan of Myrtle Beach SC; granddaughter, Christina Krebs of Marathon NY with husband Larry and daughters, Brittney and Emily, granddaughter, Lori Balmer of Pine City NY with husband Jeff and daughters, Stephanie and Allison; brother, Walter Newcomer of Elmira with wife Mary; sister, Janice Carpenter of Elmira with husband Gordon; special niece, Carol Hall of Elmira and special sister-in-law, Ella Polk of Elmira Heights; along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. At Jack's request there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, 140 Front Street, Wellsburg NY, with Pastor Steve DeWalt officiating. Jack retired from General Electric after a long career with the company. He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman who enjoyed many summers, with his family, at their cottage on Seneca Lake. Donations in Jack's memory may be directed to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home.
