She also worked as a social worker for Tioga County Human Services and as a drug and alcohol counselor at St. Joseph's Hospital. At Joyce's request, a public memorial service will be planned. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations in Joyce's name for the construction of a memorial pond and monument, which Joyce had always wanted, c/o Edward Tanner, 84 White Road, Millerton, PA 16936. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Jackson Summit Baptist Church, Route 328, Millerton, PA at 1:00 PM. Joyce asked that her ashes be scattered at her pond and at various places that were special to her. Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. No words can ever say how much my mother has fulfilled my life in so many ways. Not only was she my mother, but she was also my best friend. I have found comfort in knowing my mother is in Heaven surounded by the people she loved. Knowing she has touched the lives of so many people has also given me comfort. May God rest his hand on our family as we all try to cope with this loss, and may we never forget how wonderful she was. I love you mommy.
