Marilyn Morris Kane, 78 years, of 183 Pritchard Avenue, Corning, NY, died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Strong Memorial Hospital. She was employed as a Substitute Teacher for the Corning/Painted Post School District and the Elmira School District. Marilyn was an active member of All Saints Parish of Corning, attending St. Vincent de Paul Church, the Church Choir, the RCIA Program of the Church and the Women's Catholic Action Society. She was a member of the Corning Philharmonic and Volunteered for the Corning Voting Wards and the Local Literacy Programs. She was an accomplished artist and extremely knowledgeable in art history. Surviving her sons, Daniel C. (Helen) Kane Jr. of Corning, NY, and Thomas G. (Yvonne) Kane of Carlisle, PA; two daughters, Elizabeth (Jerry) Vine of Corning, NY, and Kathleen Kane of Corning, NY; grandchildren, Stephanie and Danielle Kane, Siobhan (Joseph) Rolfes, Trinity Kane, Brendan Kane, Kateri Kane, Sean Kane, Kelsie Vine, Kristen Vine and Jillian Vine; her sister, Joan (Hugh) Wagstaff of Overland Park, KA. Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E. First St., Corning, NY, Friday, November 23, 2007, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, November 24, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning, NY. Committal Prayers and Interment will be held at the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Corning, NY. The family would appreciate memorial donations be given in Marilyn's name to the All Saints Parish Youth Program, 222 Dodge Ave., Corning, NY 14830; or Southeast Steuben County Library, 300 Nasser Civic Center Plaza, Corning, NY 14830.
