Having lost my father this year, I can completely understand the loss of a family member. I didn't know PJ personally, but I knew his younger brother, Michael and his grandma (from Hathorne Court in the early 70's - aka the bubble gum lady) My husband, Paul, was a referee and knew him. My deepest regrets go out to his wife, kids, and all family members - may God give you a special peace and show you his endless comfort at this time

Susan, Taylor, Kay, All of the LaVelle family and Gush Family, we are so sorrowful over PJ's passing. "Peeeej" was a light in everyone's lives. He could always bring a smile to your face. His genuine spirit will live on in our hearts. The ceremony yesterday at St Marys was one to be proud of. I just felt so proud. It was, by far, the nicest funeral I have ever attended. Joe LaVelle and Kevin Gush both did such a wonderful job and Joe was so right about PJ always smiling. God Bless You PJ and watch over us down here. I know you and David are yukkin it up and playing basketball, golf, and probably petting Soxie Stowell. Love JO Anne Stowell and Mike Deming

Sue, Taylor, and the rest of the Gush and Lavelle family.
As if I wasn't stunned enough with my mother's sudden passing the day before PJ, then hearing of PJ's passing on last Wednesday was simply unbelievable. The funeral today was absolutely beautiful and a great tribute to the man that he was. May you find comfort in knowing that others are supporting you and PJ with our prayers. I found some comfort in knowing that as you laid PJ to rest today and I, my mom, that the two of them kept each other company along the way.
God bless.

Mrs. LaVelle, Jeff,
My heart aches for you. Please know how saddened I am for your loss. It's so hard to understand why people are taken away from us ~ especially so sudden and unexpectedly. When the Lord called P.J. home, He left a gift of a million memories of P.J. 's giving nature and unselfish ways. Treasures for all of us lucky enough to have known him (I've yet to meet anyone who didn't!!) to carry with us ALWAYS. May God's love and P.J.'s memories help carry you through this difficult time. God is always in your corner at a time like this ~ and so am I.
I wish you and your entire family strength and peace every step of the way. Take care of yourself and let God do the rest.

Sue & Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of a truly "good guy" and a loving husband and father. I also ache with the loss of a best friend. Although we drifted apart with our families , he was such a good friend that when we would see each other , there was no "catching up" , it was as if we saw each other every day. He lifted the spirits of all the lives he touched. Take solace that he is with God. If he is not in Heaven , then Heaven is empty.

Laughter was our common theme. PJ was a truly fun, positive person to be around. May God bless you PJ and all of your loving and caring family.
