For someone who I only talked to once or twice, you had a huge impact on my life. Thank you for creating so many places for children and teachers to thrive artistically and to freely be who they are. In my adolescent mind, you were a diety for all you'd done, and dying has just reinforced that for me, because now I see that you're immortal to so many people.

To all the Dewey/Houghton family I send my warmest love and sympathy for the loss I know you are experiencing as that wonderful Nissy has gone on to a sweet and lovely place where her spirit will soar and those who have been waiting for her will be so happy! I have remembered her with great fondness over the years I have been gone from Millis, and my memories are touched with a sense of loss of my own for having missed her great wit, her enthusiasm for so much in life that was beautiful, and her strong desire to improve the lives of people she knew were the left out and forgotten! God bless you all; I wish I could be with you when you celebrate her remarkable life. That will be a grand gathering of wonderful people!

I worked with Talbot Dewey in the early 70's at Carter Rice Paper. He was always so kind to me I shared the name Priscilla with is wife. He spoke of her in glowing tones and his face would light up when he mentioned her name. To the Dewey children you had a great mom and day.
Sincerely,
Priscilla Murphy

As you are organizing things in the gardens of Heaven look out for one of your greatest admirers. My Nancy loved you and considered you the most wonderful example of the spouse of a politician. Amo is the dearest friend in all my years in politics and I am honored that he allowed the Buechners to share in the love and public service of the Houghton/Deweys. We will miss you Priscilla; truly we will!

Priscilla had a powerfully positive influence on so many people she came in contact with-- not simply in spirit but in deed as well. Her generosity and enthusiasm, love of creativity and good-humor were not only unbounded but absolutely infectious. She had an enormous impact on my life and on my mother's as well. I'm sure I've never known another person with such an outstanding talent for friendship. To say "she won't be forgotten" is a huge understatement. She'll be remembered again and again by hundreds of people, loved, and sorely missed.

July 9, 2012

May the love of those around you, help you through the days ahead. Hold tight to cherished memories.....Lean on friends for support.....And cling to God's word, the Bible, for strength and comfort.
