Richard Bixby Obituary

Bixby, Richard A.

Richard A. Bixby of Westerburg, Germany went to be with our Lord on January 28, 2015 at the age of 70. Richard was a disabled veteran and his home became Germany, a country he came to love. He and his wife had lived here in the States for the past 15 years in New Mexico and Florida, but he wanted to go "home" to die. His health was not good and we are all thankful that he made it home to be with his children and grandchildren before passing away. He enjoyed just over a month with his family before he succumbed to a heart problem. Richard was born in Elmira, NY on June 12, 1944 to John W. and Grace E. Bixby. He was predeceased in death by both parents; sisters, Anna Bixby Schultz, Shirley Bixby Hurley, Floretta Bixby Moffe, Jean Marie Bixby, MaryLou Bixby Graves, Camilla Bixby Heck; and brother, John W. Bixby Jr. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 45 years; two sons, Frank Bixby, Thomas Bixby; and five grandchildren. Richard is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Bixby Kibbe, Barbara Bixby Hubbard; and brother, Clair and Gerry Bixby; and a number of nieces and nephews who most all live in the local area. Richard will be cremated in and remain in Germany, therefore there will not be any funeral or service here.
