Dunkel, Richard H.

Richard H. Dunkel, age 74, of Wellsboro, PA, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. He was born August 7, 1942 in Elmira, NY, a son of Henry and Anna (Zahorian) Dunkle. Richard was married to Josefa (Prima) Dunkel. He was a retired machinist. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving from 1960-1964. Richard was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wellsboro, PA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and Butchering.

Richard is survived by his wife, Josefa; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Ledy Dunkle of Winchester, CA; Anthony Dunkel of Wellsboro, PA; 2 step-daughters, Sheila and Becky; a brother and sister--in-law, Frank and Sharon Dunkle of Pine City, NY; a sister, Leonora Race of Beaver Dams, NY; 2 grandchildren, Richard Dunkle, Jr., and Yachi Dunkle; 2 great grandchildren, Maya Dunkle and Bryson Hampton. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Michael, Henry and Paul Dunkle; a sister, Lena Pautz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Southside, 224 Franklin St., Elmira, MY. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
