I was a legal aid attorney for over four decades, and I served as a volunteer and board member for Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties. I knew Rob from his years of service on the Gateways Community Living Advisory Board and on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities. Rob often added his personal insights and experiences to aid those bodies in governing Catholic Charities. He was an insightful and obviously very bright contributor to the organization for many years. For several years, Rob lived next door to our offices at legal aid. It was a common experience to run into him on entering and leaving, and he always was engaging. We all will miss him. David Ralph

What a rich and memorable person both Robert and likewise his father Bob were. They were predisposed and spirit led to be inquisitive and caring. I can see Robert Jr. sitting on the edge of the pew at Riverside Church where I was pastor. It wasn't in the brilliance of the sermon, but in his readiness to listen and be present to the Word. The hours I spent with him and his father are treasured for the stimulation. Giving thanks to God for the gifts and graces in these souls. Comfort to Truuke and family.

Robert (Bob) was my scout leader in the early 80s troop 70. We met at the Riverside elementary school 1x a week. My brother and I looked forward to our scout meeting because Bob always made the meetings interesting and above all allowed us to be kids. I can't say we ever really earned a merit badge, but looking back I can definitely say that what we learned from Bob was more valuable than a badge. Bob was compassionate about the environment and passed his beliefs on to us as we were the future generation. Above all, Bob's patience was unwavering, even when dealing with the din of several pre-teens he always kept his composure and in his monotone voice corralled the troops.
I will always look fondly of those time with Bob and I am truly saddened by his passing. God Speed my friend.
