Robert Frisbie Obituary

Robert L. Big Bad Bob Age 64, of Simkin Rd., Elmira, NY. Passed away Saturday, April 6, 2002 at the Robert Packer Hospital Sayre, PA, after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born March 4, 1938 in Sayre, PA, the son of LaVerne A. and Virginia (Stanford) Frisbie. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Connie; beloved children, Cindy (Ronald) Lerche of Waverly, NY; Bonnie (Joseph) Manzari of Elmira, NY; Robert Frisbie Jr., of Waverly, NY; John Frisbie of FL; Jenny Frisbie of Elmira, NY; mother, Virginia Mayo of Waverly, NY; sister, Lucretia Lane of Athens, PA; brothers, Michael (Ruth) Frisbie of Waverly, NY; Grant (Nancy) Frisbie of Sayre, PA; Gary (Sharon) Frisbie of Corning, NY; Wayne (Jeannie) Frisbie of Livonia, NY; Charles (Dorothy) Mayo of Waverly, NY; Kenneth (Lisa) Mayo also of Waverly, NY; along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his special companion, his dog Jessie. His father, LaVerne Frisbie, preceded him in death. Robert owned and operated Bob's Auto Sales specializing in the sale of used cars in the Elmira/Waverly area for over 30 years. Big Bad Bob earned his nickname in the 60's and 70's from racing locally where he drove his Deuce to victory lane, which lead to many track championships at the Chemung Speedrome. His passion for local racing lead him to become a NASCAR enthusiast. He also enjoyed the outdoors especially camping. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY, on Tuesday, April 9, 2002 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (8:00 PM) Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Tioga Point Cemetery Athens, PA. A Candle of Memory in Robert's name may be lit at www.olthof.com.
