Age 73, of 2429 Lower Lake Rd., Seneca Falls, passed away December 16, 2007 at his home following a 6 month battle with metastatic stomach cancer. In accord with his wishes, the funeral service will be private. Friends may call at the family home between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, December 21. Bob had an insatiable curiosity and an interest in many things. Join us in lifting a glass to toast his life. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, wife of 42 years, Judy; his children, Tim (Jo) Pipher of Seneca Falls, Vicci (Mike) Frederick, Seminole, FL, Wendi (Hugh) Hunter of Acton, ON, Canada, Neil (Linda) Pipher of Smith Falls ON, Canada; and his sister, Doris Krebs of Horseheads; eight loving grandchildren, one great-grandson, nieces and nephews; his in-laws; the mother of his children, Darlene; as well as a brother, Dick. Predeceased by his granddaughter, Emma. Bob was born in Elmira, the son of Freida (Wood) and Oliver Pipher on October 27, 1934. He attended Odessa Central School and Syracuse University, served three years in the Marine Corps and lived for a time in California and Indiana, before returning to settle in Upstate New York. He retired from Inficon Leybold Hereaus in Syracuse where he was first engaged in engineering product design, followed by various positions in marketing. During his retirement, he and his wife and kids and friends spent 4 years building a 40 ft. trimaran, Cygnus, which they sailed on Cayuga Lake, then on to Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. Three smaller trimarans were also built during his 36 year residence in Seneca Falls. In addition to sailing and camping with his close-knit family, Bob enjoyed golfing each summer. Memorials may be directed to the Seneca Falls Library, 47 Cayuga St., Seneca Falls, 13148; or the American Cancer Society, in memory of Bob. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc., 32 State St., Seneca Falls, NY.
