Ronald Burrous Obituary

BURROUS, Ronald L. Age 65, of West Branch Twp., PA, died on Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home. Born June 29, 1944, in West Branch Twp., he was a son of the late Lester and Virginia (Knickerbocker) Burrous. He was married to the former Joan Costanza, who predeceased him on May 20, 2006. Ron was employed by PPL for 35 years. He was a member of the West Pike Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and participating in the Ciminos' hunts, especially for bear. Ron also loved to cook and was well known for his chili. Surviving are his beloved dog, Miss B; two sons, Tony L. Burrous, Galeton and David A. (Wendy Jeffries) Burrous, Germania Station, PA; two daughters, Carmella J. (Lou) Cora, Mansfield, PA and Sarah (Todd) Wagaman, Wellsboro, PA; four grandchildren, Isaiah and Grace Goodreau and Hannah and Silas Wagaman; five brothers; six sisters; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Ron was predeceased by two brothers, Ned and Dell Robert Burrous. Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 4:00-8:00pm and on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 10:00-11:00am with Funeral Services following at 11:00am. The Rev. John Prouty will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Laurel Hospice or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

we sure will miss Ronnie,he worked with Junior at the gas company and always came up to camp to see us 3 or 4 times a year.

Ron was a great person to work with. I worked with him a few years back at NPG. I especially remember his philosophy -- He was always saying that he couldn't work in the rain, but he could fish in the rain. I will always remember his smile and good humor. Ron was a great guy. He would do anything for anybody. He always stopped at Cimino's camp every Labor Day weekend to visit. He will be missed.

Ron was a good man, a wonderful neighbor, and generous to a fault. No favor ever went unnoticed or unrepaid. Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. Tony, Dave, Carmie, and Sarah we will miss your Dad immensely. The neighborhood will not be the same without him.
