Sonia Etkind Obituary
Age 88 of Elmira, NY. Died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital, Elmira. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Franklin Street Cemetery, Elmira on Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. Abraham Golos officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing my make donations to Congregation Kol Ami, 1008 W. Water St., Elmira, NY 14905. Sonia is survived by sons and daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Alan A. and Meadelyn, Amanda Etkind of Roslyn, Long Island; Steven Etkind of Elmira; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her loving husband Bernard Etkind, parents Roger and Suzan Levy, brother Andre Levy. Sonia was a member of Congregation Kol Ami, Chevra Kadisha and its Sisterhood. She was born in Saint Quentin, France on March 26, 1923. Sonia was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. ARRANGEMENTS BY BAKER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
