Marian Bird Obituary

Marian Chandler Bird, age 71, of Rigby, Idaho passed away on Saturday June 7th in her home surrounded by family.

Marian was born on November 26th in Rigby to George and Ila Chandler, and then raised lovingly by George and Rosaline after the passing of her mother. She grew up in Rigby with her 9 siblings. She graduated from Rigby High School, and lived the majority of her life in the Rigby and LaBelle area.

Marian married Marlon Bird on November 8th and together they raised 6 amazing children in Rigby.

She lived a life centered on service-to her community, her church, and most of all, her family. Her deep faith was evident in her devoted church service and the countless hours she spent in the temple, where she found peace and purpose. She found her greatest joy in being with her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she shared love, laughter, and lasting memories. Her legacy of selfless service and unwavering faith continues to inspire all who knew her. Marian is survived by her husband Marlon Bird, and her children Tatum Merrill, Geoffrey Cornelsen (April), Ryan Bird (Jayse), Melissa Bird, Cameron Bird (Brittney), Taylor Bird (Kiera), 22 grandchildren, and 2.5 great grandchildren, and preceded in death by her parents George, Ila, and Rosaline.

A viewing will take place at Eckersell Memorial Chapel on Sunday June 22nd from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday June 23rd at the LaBelle 5th ward building, 364 N 4100 East Rigby, Idaho at 11:00 a.m. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. The burial will follow at Milo Cemetery. Thank you to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed.

I remember Marian as always kind and sweet. We grew up in the same ward and graduated from high school together. I am sad to hear of her passing. Her family was always there with our family and her brothers were a great support for my brother though out his life. What a blessing she was to her family and friends.

Love my Chandler cousins! Always loved being with them and they were always singing. Until we meet again, Marian. Say hi to Aunt Rosaline and Uncle George. Give Grandma Dinah and Grandpa Rulon a hug for me.

Marian was the epitomy of a virtuous woman. Her motherly attributes were shared with many outside her family circle. She gave the best (deep and warm) hugs ever. Her charitable nature is something she diligently worked on over the years. In one of our conversations, she mentioned that she was striving to be filled with the love of God. I believe she achieved that goal. Your family is in our thoughts. Thank you for the happy memories you have created and allowed us to be part of them over the years. You have certainly stored up many of them.

Loved all the A. R. Chandler family reunions,
the cousin’s gatherings; and especially the blessing of the surprise Snake River camp and whitewater rafting opportunity to take you and your young women’s group for a ride (not expected).
Looking forward to a wonderful reunion with family and friends that will exceed all those we have had in this lifetime.
