Alan Walsch Obituary

SEAFORD, Del. - Alan F. Walsch, 90, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Manor House in Seaford.
Born on March 18, 1927 in Baltimore, Md., he was the only child of the late Frederick A. and Sallie G. Spedden Walsch.
Alan attended and graduated from the William S. Bear School for children with disabilities.
He worked for a company in Baltimore for 32 years in packaging items for shipment.
Alan along with his mother and father lived at the Manor House since 1989. The staff said Alan was a kind, gentle soul. He stayed busy cutting stamps off of envelopes that helped raise money for the benevolent fund at the Manor House. He was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and received several awards for his hours of service. When it was time for Alan to get ready for bed he would tell the staff, "Just another 1/2 hour".
The family would like to give their most sincere thank you to the staff at the Manor House for all the years of wonderful care given to Alan. Also, to Vitas Healthcare Hospice for their care and giving Alan comfort in his last days.
Alan is survived by cousins: Jean McWilliams, Sewell Spedden, Phillip Spedden, Patricia Tolley, Barbara Wilson, Eleanor Jean Wheatley, and Betty Smith.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4, beginning 1 p.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park, with Pastor Steve Trice officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alan's name can be made to Beckwith United Methodist Church, c/o Betsy Ewing, 1623 Taylor's Island Road, Woolford, MD 21677.
Arrangements entrusted to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
