Daniel Kilmon Obituary

Daniel Kilmon, age 91, of Newcomb, MD passed away on January 13, 2025. Born in Easton, Maryland on December 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Harvey Larrimore Kilmon and Hazel Willey Kilmon Haddaway. He was a graduate of St. Michaels High School and served in the Air Force from 1953-1957. Danny spent his life on the water as a waterman alongside his beloved wife, Carlie, who preceded him in death by only one month. Danny and Carlie were inseparable during their 51 years of marriage, and spent their days gardening, relaxing in the backyard facing the water, birdwatching, and driving around Talbot County. Danny had a mischievous sense of humor and always loved a good joke. He was a tinkerer who could fix nearly anything and enjoyed a good project. He loved to play cards and to go hunting, and he had a wonderful circle of friends and neighbors that he enjoyed spending time with. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed watching his family grow. Danny is survived by his son, Timothy Kilmon (Gina); stepdaughters Candy Milby (Don) and Penny Finkner (Ed), sisters Jean Kimmey and Florence Hoffman; grandchildren T.J. Kilmon, Amber Ewing Shorter, Frank Milby (Ashley), Katie Milby (James), Lacey Talero (Andrés), Cody Finkner (Jenny); great-grandchildren Ian, Peyton, and Gunnar Shorter; Christian Smith and Bentley Ford; Elliot and Louisa Talero; Emilia and Nora Finkner; and Olivia and Wyatt Kilmon; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and his best friend of 50 years, Tucker Langford. He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Carlie; sons Daniel Kilmon, Jr. and Michael Lee Kilmon; stepson Robert "Bob" Aikenhead; step-grandson Robert Shawn Warner; and siblings Mary Lowery Thomas and Donald Kilmon. Military services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Talbot Hospice House.
