Doris Payne Obituary
Born on October 28, 1930 in Easton, MD, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Katherine Tribbett McLaughlin. Doris graduated from Centreville High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of many organizations and loved to play Bingo. Doris worked for over 35 years for the Town of Centreville as the town clerk. She also worked at Farmer's National Bank and as a weekend receptionist for Genesis Healthcare.
Doris is survived by her son John Payne of Centreville, MD; granddaughter Laura Fox (Chris) and great grandson Noah Lister. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Oscar Payne and daughter Deborah Travers.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 11-12 pm at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Centreville, MD, where a service will begin at noon. Burial will follow in Chesterfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goodwill Fire Company, Ambulance Fund, 212 Broadway, Centreville, MD 21617.
