Emily "Carlie" Kilmon

1936 - 2024

Emily Carlos Kilmon, age 88, of Newcomb, MD passed away on December 12, 2024. Born in Easton, Maryland in 1936, "Carlie" is the daughter of the late Carl Willey and Mary Magdeline Pardoe Lutz. Carlie lived her entire life in Talbot County, where she raised her three children and later built a life on the water with her husband of 51 years, Daniel Kilmon of Newcomb. Carlie loved nothing more than spending time with her husband on the water or riding the scenic country roads in search of a lunch or dinner destination. Carlie was a lover of nature who enjoyed bird watching, growing vegetables in her garden, and flowers (especially yellow roses). She had many beloved pets over the years and always adored animals. Carlie was a hard worker well into her later years, but as she eased into retirement, she enjoyed hearing stories about the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. She was immensely proud of her family and would brag about them to whoever would listen. She had a wonderful community of neighbors, friends, and extended family for whom she cared deeply. She loved the life she created on the water and was happiest in her backyard with her husband by her side. Carlie is survived by her husband, Daniel Kilmon; her daughters, Candy A. Milby and her husband Don, and Penny L. Finkner and her husband Ed; her granddaughters, Amber Ewing Shorter, Katie Milby and her partner, James, and Lacey Talero, and her husband Andrés; her grandsons, Frank Milby, and his partner Ashley, and Cody Finkner, and his wife Jenny. Carlie is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Ian, Peyton, and Gunnar Shorter; Christian Smith and Bentley Ford; Elliot and Louisa Talero; Emilia and Nora Finkner. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen Bell, her son, Robert "Bob" Aikenhead, and her grandson, Robert Shawn Warner.

In honor of Carlie's wishes, there will be no memorial services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Compass Hospice or the St. Michaels Volunteer Fire Department.
