Emma Bramble Obituary

VIENNA - Jean Bramble left us for her next adventure on Aug. 2, 2017. She was 81.
Born in Williamsburg, Md., on Dec. 16, 1935, the third of three children to the late Sarah Virginia and Thomas Woodrow Bowdle, she is survived by her husband of 62 years, Otis James Bramble; a sister, Shirley Ann Truitt; a daughter, Theresa Ann Dotson (Thomas); a son, Arthur James Bramble (Deanna); two grandchildren, Leo Wanex (Mary), Allison Lacy Dotson; brother, Richard (Dickie) Bowdle; brother-in-law, Herman (Bunky) Truitt; and nephew, Thomas Truitt, preceded her in death.
A passion for the outdoors and a lifelong love of all animals, she enjoyed gardening and feeding hummingbirds. It was not uncommon to find her searching for rocks and arrowheads in the fields around the farm. An avid reader and book collector, she spent countless hours exploring the family history.
While she had many vocations throughout her life, her most rewarding was as a cafeteria manager at Hurlock Elementary School, a position which was previously held by her mother.
Pallbearers are Leo Wanex, Dennis Reid, Ricky Bowdle, Wade Bramble, Thomas Dotson and Arthur Bramble.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and members of Coastal Hospice, with a special thank you to Wanda Murphy.
A funeral service will be held at Reid's Grove United Methodist Church in Reid's Grove on Monday, Aug. 7, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
Memorial donations can be made to Reid's Grove United Methodist Church, c/o Betty Wilson, 5314 Rhodesdale-Vienna Road, Rhodesdale, MD 21659, or Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
Arrangements are in the care of Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.

Otis and Family......I am very sorry for your loss! I know that the last years of Jean's life were not easy ones for you or her, but rest assured that she is at peace now.
I enjoyed the time spent with Jean while working "carpool" to and from Easton many years ago! Where have all the years gone ?
My sympathy goes out to you and know that you are in my thoughts during this time.

Art, Theresa, Deanna and Tommy, our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. One of my most cherished possessions is a photo of all our parents together at my wedding. I think that may have been the last time they were all together. I will bring copies on Monday. I love you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
