Geraldine Dill Obituary

Geraldine Juanita (Thomas) Dill passed away on January 11, 2024 at UM-SRH in Easton. She was born on February 20, 1952 in Easton, MD and was raised by her parents Morris and Etta Thomas in Bellevue, MD as the youngest of their nine children. Geraldine attended school in Talbot County and graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1970. After spending a year in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to Baltimore City to attend business school. She married Ernest Dill and they had one daughter, Chamice. After his death, she moved to Harford County. While working for a pharmacy in Towson, she also graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Harford Community College.

In 1982, Geraldine returned to the Eastern Shore to help care for her aging parents. Until her retirement, she worked at various times for W.A. Turner & Sons, Bellevue Seafood Company, delivered the Star Democrat, and as an independent Avon sales representative.

Geraldine was a faithful member of the Easton, MD congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for 38 years. For the last 34 years she served as a full-time minister and encouraged many others to do the same. Her kindly demeanor, sense of humor, and listening ear will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Bruce, Nathaniel, Charles, and Chester Thomas, sisters: Charlotte Allen and Delores Sasser, nephews: David Alston and Charles Thomas Jr. and niece Crystal Allen.

She is survived by her daughter, Chamice Dill of Easton, MD, sister Mary Alston of Brooklyn, NY, brother Dwight (Alice) Thomas of Salisbury, MD, brother-in-law Royce (Debbie) Dill of Salisbury, MD and sisters-in-law Estella Thomas of Philadelphia, PA, Elizabeth Thomas of Easton, MD, Brenda Dill of Magnolia, DE and Sherry Powell of Dover, DE as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words. All of your phone calls, text messages, greeting cards, encouraging words, and prayers during her final days will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Talbot County Free Library or Talbot Humane Society to honor her love of reading and animals.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 29250 Skipton Landing Road, Cordova, MD 21625, followed by a Repast at the Cordova Fire Hall 11864 Kittys Corner Road, Cordova, MD 21625.
