John Friel Obituary

John went home to his Lord, with his wife Mary by his side on September 4, 2024. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Sullivan Friel and James J. Friel, siblings, Mary Teresa Friel and James F. Friel and his spouse, Judy Hudson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary P. Friel, stepchildren, Rick Hudson (Amanda), Deborah Vornbrock (Ted), Madeline Fisher (Isaac), Adele Garner, grandchildren, Michael Hudson, Madison Hudson, Katie, Emma Grace and Clare Vornbrock, Warren Steven Fisher and siblings Claire Friel and Peter Friel (Ester).

John was an avid sailor and member of the Corsica River Yacht Club. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Centreville, MD.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 301 S Liberty Street, Centreville, MD on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 3:00pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the CJD Foundation or Martin's House and Barn in Ridgely, MD.
