Margaret Corkran Obituary
Margie's early years were spent in Adelphi, Maryland until her family moved to Dorchester County in 1965. She attended North Dorchester High School and graduated in 1971. After graduation, she met and married Marion D. "Pete" Corkran, Sr. and they married on October 6, 1972. Mr. Corkran passed away on May 12, 2007.
For many years Margie was a licensed home day care provider, a path she chose to be able to be home with her children. Years later she worked a various sewing factories as well as Coldwater Seafood. There were many occasions she would serve as a caregiver to different family members as the need was there.
Her greatest loves were the Lord and her family. A dedicated Christian, she loved sharing her love of God to everyone. She was a member of Park Lane Church in Federalsburg and had been associated with Unity Washington United Methodist Church and Sunnyside Alliance Church. Her favorite times were with family and she tried to spread happiness and cheer with everyone she came in contact with.
Margie is survived by her husband, Carroll Lankford whom she married February 14, 2022; a son, Marion D. "Petey" Corkran, Jr. and wife Dawn of East New Market; a daughter, Janice L Flannery and husband Kevin of Ashburn, Virginia; five grandchildren, Austin Revel and wife Morgan, Zachary Revel, Gavin Flannery, Baker Flannery and Isabelle Flannery; a great grandson, Forrest Revel; two step daughters, Casey Lankford and Carol Ann Lankford as well as several extended family members of her husband and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert G. "Bobby" Weimer.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market and on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at Park Lane Church of God in Federalsburg where the funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Pastor Keith Colona will officiate. Interment will follow in Unity Washington Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge MD 21613.
