Mary Jump Obituary

Mary Jo (Gannon) Jump of Easton, MD passed away at her residence on January 8, 2021. She was 86 years old.

Mary Jo was born in Talbot County, MD on January 15, 1934 to the late James Leo Gannon and Ethel (Rhodes) Gannon. She attended and graduated from McQueen Gibbs School in Wye Mills, MD with a nursing degree. On August 20, 1955 she married the love of her life, Frank C. Jump. She was an active member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Mary Jo was a lifelong nurse, working at Easton Memorial Hospital, House of the Pines and the Eastern Shore Hospital before retiring in 1996. She always took an interest in her grandchildren's activities and enjoyed watching the Orioles play on television while discussing about the players with those around her. Mary Jo looked forward to taking summer camping trips each year with cherished family, Bob and Regina Russ and friends, Robert and Ann Wheatley.

Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Eric) Drummer of Easton, MD, son, Chuck (Lisa) Jump, Jr. of Chincoteague, VA, daughter Amanda (Jeff) Lyons of Preston, MD and son, Donald (Sandy) Jump of Preston, MD. She is also survived by her brother, Vincent Gannon. As well as grandchildren Josh, Austin, Amanda, Kristen, Elizabeth, Melissa, Emily, Gannon, Wendy, Melanie, Justine, Frank, Jenn and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mary Jo was predeceased by her parents, James and Ethel Gannon and her husband, Frank Jump. As well as her siblings, Anna Mae Rash, Eugene Gannon, Clara Herzog, James Leo Gannon, William Gannon, Marie Dudley, Robert Gannon, Holton Gannon, Regina Russ, Franklin Gannon, and Edwin Gannon.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons: Frank Jump, Joshua Langdon, Austin Langdon, and Gannon Lyons and sons-in-law JR Chance and Dave Stewart

A drive through visitation will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 from 12:30pm-1:30pm at the Spring Hill Annex on Aroura Street in Easton, MD. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive Easton, MD 21601.

We have great memories of our camping times in Chincoteague, sitting around the campfire telling stories and chats we had at many family gatherings. She was a special lady! Love and condolences to Mandy, Ruth, Donald and Chuck and their families.
