Raymond Nichols Obituary

Raymond "Ray" Nichols (83) passed at his home in Easton, MD on July 10, 2025.

In 1960 Ray was among those who had the honor of being the first graduating class of North Caroline High School. Ray enjoyed watching softball and baseball, doing puzzles, and was extremely skilled in carpentry. He found great success and joy working 50 years for Walbridge Brothers of Easton, MD.

Upon the early passing of his parents, Carl and Ruth Ann Nichols, Ray was raised by his paternal grandparents, Oscar and May Nichols, with support from his maternal grandparents, Henry and Amanda Schultie.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Ray was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Irene, sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and David Ward Sr.

He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Pardoe (Rich) of Seaford, DE; grandson Matthew Westerfield, (Elaine) of Leonardtown, MD; granddaughter Nicole Ann Reel; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by nephews, Henry Ward Sr (Teresa) of Bridgeville, DE, David Ward Jr (Beverly) of Denton, MD, Jody Ward Sr (Tracy) of Denton, MD; 5 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, 4 great-great nieces, and 4 great-great nephews. He was also lovingly known as Uncle Ray to many others.

There are no services for Mr. Nichols.

If friends would like to make a memorial donation in memory of Ray, the family suggests donating to Compass Hospice, 160 Coursevall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
