Sara Younkin Obituary
She was born on Sept. 4, 1918, in Dawson, Pa., daughter of the late June Miller husband and the late David P. Husband.
Sara's husband of 52 years, John E. Younkin, passed away in 1994. She was also predeceased by her brother, David M. Husband; grandson, Clayton Christopher Clark; step-great-grandsons, Robert William Stevenson and Logan Kleier.
Sara is survived by daughter, Barbara Park and her partner Frank Blake of Joppa, Md.; daughter, Elaine Bloomer and husband Gregory of Pahrump, Nev.; and daughter, Jeanette Kleier and husband Mark of Peachtree Corners, Ga.
Services for Mrs. Younkin are being handled by McAlister Funeral Home, 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414. Service and burial will be at Old Saint Andrews Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River River Road, Charleston, SC 29414. The service will take place on Sunday, March 4, 3 p.m. with visitation with the family in the church beginning at 1 p.m.

Sara was such an important figure in the life and history of Old St Andrews Parish Church as their organist and choir director for many years. She on organ, along with Virgil Wilson on flute, provided the beautiful music for our wedding there on Oct 20, 1990, along with a half-hour pre-ceremony concert that we and our parents enjoyed from the balcony.
