Sharon Jarboe "Sherry" Baxter

Sharon "Sherry" Jarboe Baxter, age 79, of Church Hill, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Anne Arundel Medical Center on January 22, 2026. Born on November 25, 1946, in Sherwood, Maryland, Sherry was the daughter of Wilson M. Jarboe and Evelyn Sinclair Jarboe. Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Ruth Jr., and her sister, Sylvia J. Gannon. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and the heart of her family, whose life was defined by devotion to those she loved. She carried herself with quiet strength and a steady presence, bringing comfort and security to her family. She found joy in caring for her home and spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren-faithfully attending their special activities, where her loving presence was always felt. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love will be remembered always. Sherry is survived by her children, Jason Ruth (Gretchen) and Kathryn McAllister (Patrick); her grandchildren, John Ruth, Lillian Ruth, Sophie Ruth, Ella McAllister, and Wesley McAllister; her sister, Sondra Bentley; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Centreville, Maryland, with a funeral service to follow and burial at Stevensville Cemetery.
