Hubert Turley Obituary
Hubert Turley, 93, of Culpeper, VA passed away March 29, 2021. He was born April 4, 1927 in Powder Springs, GA to Pink W. Turley and Zora Abney Turley. Mr. Turley served his country in the Army Air Corps and retired from civil service after thirty years with the Department of Education. He was a pilot, a HAM radio operator, an outdoorsman and a charter member of the Oakton Lions Club, where he gave over gave over fifty years of service.
Surviving Mr. Turley is his wife of 69 years, Patricia Turley, and his 3 children, William Hubert Turley and his wife Colleen, Carol Turley-Shaner and her husband Steve, James Bradford Turley and his wife Dawn; his grandchildren Elizabeth Rebecca Ward, Rachel Eden Downing, Christine Marie Shaner, Jay and Sunshine and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Turley was one of six children, and is survived by his brother James Turley and his wife Thelma.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, VA Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., followed by 2:00 p.m. interment in the Culpeper National Cemetery, Chandler Street. Military honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from noon until service time. Please engage in safe Covid19 practices. Masks will be provided at the door, if needed.
