John was yet another of Gods gifts to mankind.
His kindness, his advice, his assistance to his Hidden Valley community, and, of course, his service to this country, will not be forgotten by this old Marine, former neighbor and friend.
My condolences to, and prayers for, his family and friends.
Sincerely, Larry Johnson, a neighbor at Hidden Valley.

John and Nancy were dear people. After her death and his move to Independence, VA, he was very active in the Church of the Good Shepherd in Galax, an Episcopal and Lutheran congregation, where he served as Senior Warden. His love for Christ and the church were very evident. I know his family will miss him very much. I am grateful to have been his pastor.
