Esther was born the daughter of and Jacob and Elizabeth Sauer Eisenach, December 21, 1923, born in a small farmhouse in Mitchell. Her early childhood years were spent on the farm and later in Gering, near her parents and her many brothers and sisters. She graduated from the Gering High School with the class of 1941. She continued her education in vocational school, subsequently working part time as a secretary. At this time, she met and married John Willard Eberle in Gering, in 1946. The couple was blessed with two sons before moving to Omaha where they were again blessed with the birth of a daughter.
While in Omaha, she raised her family and worked from home as a stenographer. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior having been very active in the Mt. View Presbyterian Church as well as the church circle. She was a den mother to Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and the PTA associations.
When her children were of school age, she started working outside the home, working for Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, remaining in the medical records office for more than 30 years as a hard working employee that any employer would adore. She was able to accomplish what she said she would do, and do it accurately without the need for guidance.
Before retiring at the age of 65, she had made many friends at the hospital and at church. Subsequent to her retirement at the hospital, she enjoyed working at several department stores on weekends and evenings and was an avid shopper and bargain hunter. She loved baking, cooking and had the most envious flower and bulb garden in the neighborhood. Esther spent much of her leisure time caring for her family and home making, but did enjoy researching genealogy of her family. She was the keeper of the family tree. The summer months spent visiting with her nieces and nephews, for whom she had a deep adoration, was a memory all will have for years to come.
Lasting friendships were important to her and she always looked forward to high school class reunions, visiting day and night with school friends as they planned and anticipated the next reunion. In 2003, she move to Palm Desert, California to be close to her son and daughter, but never forgot her roots in Nebraska. She was especially excited about the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team and was delighted to see that the current coach would be replaced for the upcoming season.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alma Ullrich; three brothers, Raymond Eisenach, Melvin Eisenach and Floyd Eisenach. Survivors include two sons, John Scott Eberle of Saudi Arabia and Robert Steven Eberle and his wife Mary Zarangoza-Eberle of Lake Forest, California; and one daughter, Susan Lynnette Eberle of Palm Desert, California; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, her loving sister-in-law Audrey Eisenach of Fort Wayne, Indiana and many, many friends. She was a blessing to us all.
