Marjorie Paxton Obituary

TUCSON, Ariz. - Marjorie Maxine (Cate) Paxton, 83, formerly of Scottsbluff, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Tucson, Ariz.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
Family requests memorials be made in memory of Marjorie Paxton to the Tucson Audubon Society or the Riverside Discovery Center.
Marj was born May 7, 1929 in Bayard, to Everett Floyd and Lola Marie (Reed) Cate. Marjorie was raised in the Nebraska panhandle and graduated from Scottsbluff High School and Scottsbluff College. She married William Gerald (Bill) Paxton Jan. 23, 1948.
She was a member of the Cootiette Club of Scottsbluff, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the DAV Auxiliary for more than 50 years each, as well as of the Riverside Zoological Society, and the American Iris Society. Marj worked as a bookkeeper for Magnolia Mobile Homes and F.H. Schafer Elevator.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Pam Paxton of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Brad Paxton and Laura LePere of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Reyna DeAnne Tracy (Eddie) of Longmont, Colo. and William Franklin Paxton (Chrissy) of Newport, Ky.; great-grandchildren, William Austin, Alexis, and Maddy Tracy of Longmont, Colo. and Eva, Liam, and Morgan Paxton of Newport, Ky. Survivors also include brothers Gene (Shirley) Cate of Mesa, Ariz. and Bradley Cate of Temecula, Calif.
Marj was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 53 years; brother, Robert Cate; sisters-in-law, Freda Cate, Dorothy Cate, and Jo An Cate and daughter-in-law, Tawnya Paxton.

I was in Trailswest Iris Society with Marj. She was a dear friend. Bil and Marj shared many flowers with me. She was a sharing, caring person. I have missed her since she moved.
My heart goes out to all of you at the loss of your Mothr and Grandmother.
