Marlene Boston, 83, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on August 19, 2025. Born on May 22, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Edward and Blanche Julis, Marlene lived a life filled with good food, devoted friendships, and a deep love for her family .
On August 12, 1961, Marlene married the love of her life, Bill Boston, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They shared 55 beautiful years of marriage and built a loving home where she raised her 3 children, welcomed 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and enjoyed countless beloved pets.
While raising her family, Marlene owned two businesses: a uniform shop and interior design company. Her gift of gab and eye for design made her one of the most sought-after interior designers in the Scottsbluff community, and from people's homes to Scottsbluff National Bank, she helped create beauty for her community. She was also known for her legendary cooking and unforgettable parties.
Marlene had a unique ability to bring people together and make every gathering, no matter the occasion, special. Christmas was Mom's favorite holiday and her Christmas tree held over 500 ornaments collected throughout her life.
Above all, she considered her greatest accomplishment to be her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted mother to all three of her kids and was always present, involved, and cheering them on as they grew up and built their own families. As a grandmother, Marlene attended every sporting event, concert, and recital she could, and there was never a question where she was because her laughter and cheers from the crowd were impossible to miss.
A devout Catholic, Marlene's faith guided her life and inspired her commitment to service. She was an active member of PEO Chapter BD, an organization that promotes women's education, the Angels Program at Casper Oncology, caring for cancer patients receiving treatment, Gourmet Club, and the Red Hat Society. Whether she was supporting her community or bringing joy to her friends, Marlene's heart was always open and her spirit endlessly generous.
In her later years, Marlene lived at Meadow Winds Assisted Living, where the staff quickly came to love her for her kindness, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor. She never knew a stranger and could talk to anyone, regardless of if she'd just met them. Give her a cup of coffee and something sweet, and she was content to talk for hours.
Marlene will be remembered as a classy, passionate, and vivacious woman who could fill a room with her boisterous laugh and bring people together around her table. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, and empathy will live on in her friends and family as well as the recipes and stories she left to be cherished. Her warmth and love will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Lori (Brian) Cetak of Casper, WY; their daughters Emily Cetak of Casper, WY, and Allison Cetak of Denver, CO; Duke (Holly) Boston of Belle Fourche, SD; their children Jordan (Jen) Boston of North Platte, NE, and their children Kolbe and Lily; Megan Boston of Bozeman, MT; Kylie (Shane) Herman of Rapid City, SD, and their children Graham, Marley, and Maeve; and Christopher Boston (Erika) of Casper, WY, and their children, Tyler and Danika.
A memorial service will be held on September 13 at 10:00. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. In place of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Casper Humane Society-two causes close to Marlene's heart.
The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Winds for their kindness and love extended to our mother. Also, thank you to the dedicated nurses at Wyoming Medical Center who helped with mom's passing.
To know Marlene was to love her. Her light, laughter, and love will live on in all who had the blessing of calling her mom, grandma or friend.
