Maxium Meisner Obituary

Maxium ""Max"" Charles Meisner, 67, of Gering, passed away at his home Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Neugebauer officiating. Inurnment will be at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance with military honors.
A memorial has been established to the family to be designated at a later date. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Max was born on May 13, 1945 in Scottsbluff to Fred and Anna (Kramer) Meisner. He grew up on the family farm south of Gering helping his father and attended Cedar Valley School. He then graduated from Gering High School in 1963. Max entered the U.S. Army in 1964 and served overseas in places such as Germany, Holland and Spain. He was honorably discharged in 1970.
Max was married to Carryl Bartine from 1968 to 1975 and from this union two sons were born Erik and Brant, they made their home in Arvada, Colo. He was later married to Elizabeth Ann Nelson from 1977 to 1980 and from this union their daughter Kristine was born. After his wife's death he lived and worked in Westminster Colorado where he raised his daughter ""Kristy"" until 1994. Max then moved back to Gering where he was a truck driver until ill health forced him to retire in 2010. He enjoyed going to the Log Cabin the last 19 years where he knew everyone by name and they became his 2nd family.
Survivors include his sons, Erik (Julia) Meisner, Brant (Megan) Meisner; daughter, Kristine (Hector) Mata; grandchildren, Adrian, Anna, Alex, Abby, Nicholas, Caroline, Alexi and Gavin; brothers, Herbert and Roger (Judy) Meisner; sisters, Esther Meisner and Elsie Walker; sisters in law, Ilene Meisner and Janice Meisner; and brother-in-law, Herald Roth.
Max was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Ann; brothers, Freddy, Ted and Robert; and sister, Irene Roth.
