Patsy Nichols

Patsy Ruth (Hagemeister) Nichols May 15, 1933-August 30, 2023 Patsy Ruth (Hagemeister) Nichols, 90, of Scottsbluff, passed away on August 30, 2023, after a short illness. No memorial service will be held according to her wishes. Pat was born May 15, 1933, to Lee and Alice Hagemeister of Potter, Nebraska. After graduating from Potter High School, she earned a bachelor's degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University. In 1995, she married Clark Nichols and together they became the proud parents of Tom, Jim, and Nancy. She and Clark later divorced. Pat worked for over 20 years as a home visitor and trainer at Panhandle Community Services, until retiring in 1996. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as a Stephen Minister, as well as many other community organizations. She enjoyed music and dancing and learned to square dance with longtime partner and companion Bob Summerville. She loved the outdoors and could often be found walking, hiking, or gardening. Pat was an endless source of support and encouragement for her family and friends. She traveled many miles to attend her children's and grandchildren's performances, games, and events. Her sunny smile, her giggle, and her positivity will be dearly missed. Pat is survived by sons, Tom Nichols (Janet Bratton) and Jim (Ruth) Nichols; daughter, Nancy (Paul) Resseguie; grandson, Jacob (Maddie) Carbaugh; stepgrandchildren, Zac, Tye, and Arlea Resseguie and Nes and Alex Merrill; sisters, Jea Montgomery and Peggy (Larry) Gerke; friend, Bob Summerville; and beloved cat, Oskar.
