Ralph R. Tompsett Jr.

TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Ralph R. Tompsett, Jr., 86, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Mathis officiating. Burial of the ashes will take place at 2 p.m. at the West Lawn Cemetery in Gering.

Ralph was born Feb. 6, 1926 in Harrisburg, the son of Ralph and Esther (Clifford) Tompsett Sr. He attended school in Nebraska and graduated from Omaha Central High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. After the military Ralph ranched until 1969. He married Alma Louise Leberman on Sept. 20, 1953 in Scottsbluff. In 1972 Ralph started working as a sales representative for the Snap-On Tool Company. He retired from there in 1989. They had moved to Torrington, Wyo. in 1976.
Ralph was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Heritage Association. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, and flying.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary Roes and her husband Richard of Hemingford; son, Clark Tompsett of Santa Fe, N.M.; and sister, Ruth Handly of Omaha.
Preceding Ralph in death were his parents; wife, Alma; brother, Bill; sisters Elizabeth and Esther; and son, Richard Page.
