Ricky Schanaman Obituary
September 30, 1958 - July 12, 2024
Ricky Dean Schanaman, 65, of Gering, NE tragically left us on July 12, 2024. While doing what he loved, being on his boat at Grey Rock Reservior in Wheatland, Wyoming.
He was born in Scottsbluff, NE to Floyd and Joyce Schanaman. He graduated Scottsbluff High School in 1976. He married Cheryl Holten July 23, 1977. From this union Christie Schanaman(Spencer) was born.
Rick spent his life as a farmhand, maintenance technician, carpentry, working on motorhomes, he worked at the Sugar Beet Factory and at Lockwoods. He spent many years in California as a property/maintenance manager.
Rick loved fishing, boating, camping, woodworking, shooting pool and spending time with family and friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Joyce Schanaman, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by daughter Christie(Dustin) Spencer and grandson Zachary Spencer. His brothers Dan(Jolene),Doug(Donna), Randy(Anita), Rory(Nora), and sister Deanna(Dee) Schanaman(Gabriel). Numerous nieces and nephews, and his dog Bam Bam.
Celebration of Life will be held at El Charrito, Saturday August 31st 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the family at 4948 Dakota Dr, Ft. Collins, CO 80528.
