Ron Moore Obituary

Ronald Gene Moore, Jr. (Ron) was born December 21st, 1957, in Bowling Green, Ohio to Miriam Ruth (Wight) Moore and Ronald Gene Moore, Sr. The family moved to Huntley, Wyoming in 1969. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1976. Ron married Kim Fleenor of Torrington, WY on September 10th, 1983, and they had three daughters together.

The family moved to Chadron, Nebraska in 1998 while he worked as a broker dealer for Modern Farm Equipment. He was involved in the various sports his daughters participated in and helped establish the local softball program. He was very proud of his daughters' accomplishments.

After raising their beautiful family, Ron and Kim divorced. He continued to reside in Chadron until his unexpected death on August 26th, 2025, at his home. He owned and operated The Ridge Bar and Restaurant, established in 2014, and was in the process of opening a second restaurant in town. Ron had lived in Chadron for nearly 30 years and loved the community. He took great pride in supporting the athletic programs of Chadron State College, as well as other community events. Ron was very active in athletics himself; winning state titles in basketball as a Huntley Cardinal and was a member of the Coors Light softball team.

Aside from athletics, Ron enjoyed spending vacation time at the lake. He would go to Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Oklahoma where he had his "big boat(s)."

Ron is survived by Kim, ex-wife but life partner, Torrington, WY; eldest daughter, Brooke Busskohl, Phoenix, AZ; Sarah Moore (David), Alexandria and Liam, Craig, CO; Katelyn Strode (Micah), Ava and Landry (Parker, CO); Sydney Holland (Cody), Isabella, Jamari, Mateo, Andover, KS; mother, Miriam Moore, Morrill, NE; brother, Michael Moore (Lori) and family, Morrill, NE; sister, Marcia Roth (Mike) and family, Wichita, KS; brother, Jim Moore (Allison) and family (Lawrence, KS); sister, Michelle Dunkel (Steve) and family, Scottsbluff, NE.

Preceded in death by his father, Ron Moore, Sr.; grandparents William and Frances Wight and James and Grace Moore; in-laws Jim and Margaret Fleenor, and brother-in-law, Bill Haas.

Services in Chadron, NE and Torrington, WY to be announced at a later date.

The Ridge Motto:

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming, "Wow, what a ride!!!"

Ron lived life to the fullest and will be sorely missed by many. He was a selfless giver and touched the lives of so many people.
