Katherine Alford Obituary

Katherine Edwards Baughman Alford, 94, born on June 30, 1931 to John Wafer Edwards and Nora Lee Edwards in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.  God orchestrated her departure from this world to meet her Lord on October 16, 2025.  She was a life-long member of the Starkville Church of God, Starkville, MS.
Katherine worked at the MSU Physical Plant Accounting and retired from there in 1996.  She was an avid walker and was able to enjoy 29 years of retirement with traveling, reading and working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Baughman, her son, Douglas Baughman, her sisters, Eugenia Rushing, Lora Rushing, Berline Fox, and brothers, Otis Bell, Homer Edwards, John W. Edwards, and Joe Edwards.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Gaylon Alford; daughters, Gloria Miley, and Debra Roberson (Bill); and sister, Patricia McHann.  She was known as Nana to six grandchildren, and Nannie to eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be at Welch Funeral Home on Monday, October 20, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 pm.

Katherine was my favorite Aunt. She led such a life of service to our Lord and Savior and I know when she left this world she was met with the open arms of God and He said, "Well done thy good and faithful servant." I will miss her greatly.
