Ann Lewis Obituary

Ann Porzio Lewis, 77, of Boonton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00am, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 22, 1947, in Boonton, New Jersey, Ann spent most of her like in Boonton, where she built a community and career rooted in passion, integrity and joy. Ann was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edith Porzio, and sister of late Ralph Porzio, the II. Her family instilled in her the values of kindness, curiosity and resilience.
Ann was a gifted writer and journalist, known for her talent with words, sharp intellect, and thoughtful storytelling. Her work reflected her deep curiosity about the world and her desire to connect with others through shared experiences and meaningful conversations.
Above all, Ann was known for her infectious laugh - a laugh so full of life that it could brighten any room and bring people together. It was one of her most beautiful qualities, and one that lives on in her beloved son Jed Lewis, who inherited her unmistakable, heartwarming laugh.
Ann was the cherished wife of Neale Lewis, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter and adventure. Together, they traveled the world, creating treasured memories - especially during their time in France, a place that always held a special spot in Ann's heart.
She was the devoted mother of Jed, loving mother-in-law of Lisa Lewis, and adoring grandmother of Vander and Phoenix Lewis, who were the light of her life. Family was at the center of everything Ann did, and she found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved most.
Ann's spirit was defined by warmth, generosity and a deep appreciation for life's simple, beautiful moments. Whether at home, in the newsroom, with friends, or on her travels, she embraced life fully - always ready to share a story, a smile, or a helping hand.
A celebration of Ann's life with be privately held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to The Alzheimer's Association.
Ann's legacy of love, compassion, and joy lives on in our hearts - and the laughter - of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Although our politics differed, she was a fun person to discuss issues with. That is an unusual quality in this world.
