Stuart Cooper Obituary

Stuart Franklin Cooper of Morristown, N.J., formerly of Chatham Township, N.J., died on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Temple Sinai, Summit, N.J.
A graduate of Bowdoin College, Class of 1953, he served his country during the Korean War.
Stuart joined his family business, Cooper Alloy Metals, Hillside, N.J., at a very young age, and as president, he had dedicated his entire life to running the family business.
Stuart was very active with the Federation of Metro-West, was a founding member of Fairmount Country Club, Chatham Township, N.J., and a member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell, N.J.
He was also a past president of Temple Sinai, Summit, and very active at Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, Short Hills, N.J.
He was the administrator of the Florence and Harry A. Cooper Foundation, a scholarship fund for students in need of financial assistance.
Stuart was a avid tennis player and golfer. He loved to travel and was a lover of the arts.
He was a man who truly enjoyed life and adored his family.
Stuart was predeceased by his first wife, Doree, and is survived by his wife, Jane Burke Cooper. He was the father of Michaele (Fred) Silverberg, Stephanie Sussman, Sloane Cooper; step-father of Ainsley Burke (Richard Metter) and Robert (Andrea) Burke; grandfather of Hallie Futterman (Thomas Mangohig), Lisa Futterman, Noah Sussman, Leah Sussman, Lauren Perlman, and Jason Perlman; and step-grandfather of Daniel Metter, Keir Metter, Alexandra Burke, and Jonathan Burke.
Contributions may be made in Stuart's memory to a charity of your choice.
