GONZALEZ
Maria E. Gonzalez of Prosper, Tx passed away on June 30, 2023 at the age of 80 years old at her Dallas home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 20, 1943 in Elsa, Tx to Juan Gomez Robles and Angelita Riojas Robles. Maria married the late Reverend Jose S.M. Gonzalez on August 12, 1963 and they enjoyed nearly 55 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Maria grew up in the Valley and eventually made her way to Prosper, Tx which became her forever home. In her first 7 years of marriage, by 1970, she had her first 4 children... Judy, Joe, Vivian & Mireya... and Adrianna, our bless-ed Princess, came as a surprise 15 years later, in June of 1985.
During her life, Maria was a homemaker and also worked outside the home. At home, she was the heart. As a homemaker, she created an environment that provided a shelter for her loved ones. Her dedication to her family was unwavering. She was a pillar of strength & support, always there to offer guidance, encouragement, and a listening ear. Her determination in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her, demonstrating resilience and purpose. She held high expectations for herself... as well as those she cared about, pushing them to reach their full potential. Her strong nature was softened by her love, as she only wanted the best for her loved ones.
She worked at Hudson's in Frisco, Tx in the late 70s to early 80s, then began working for Prosper Independent School District in the early 90s as an ESL teacher. This particular job was her pride & joy, and it gave her tremendous fulfillment. Dedicating herself to help others find their voice and empowering them to overcome language barriers. Her passion for education and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others was evident through her work. Many students, both young and old, were fortunate to have her as their teacher, experiencing firsthand her patience, kindness, and genuine care until she retired in February 2009.
Maria was also a devoted member of Iglesia Buenas Nuevas church in Frisco, Texas... and in 1995, she took on a very special role as Pastor's wife, and she continued this role well into her retirement... as once a Pastors wife, always a Pastor's wife. Her faith and devotion were not limited to the walls of the church but filled every aspect of her life. She embraced her role as a Pastor's wife with grace and dignity, offering comfort to those in need and her commitment to her faith was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Maria leaves behind a legacy that will continue to echo through the lives she touched. Her strength, determination and faith will serve as a guiding light for those who knew her. Her memory will be carried forward through the countless lives she impacted as a Pastor's wife, as an ESL teacher, and as a loving homemaker.
Today, as we say goodbye, let us remember Maria not with sadness but with gratitude for the gift of her life. Let us cherish the memories, the lessons weve learned and the love she poured into us. Let us carry her spirit within us... to continue the legacy... in the lives of our friends & loved ones.

There are many facilities, rehabilitation centers and physicians over the years, but we wanted to say a special thank you to Baylor Hospitals & Rehab & CC Young. Our mother had many physicians, but the one constant throughout her care was Dr Anita Khetan. Nexxus Home Healthcare and their wonderful team, which included our special Nikki Doty. Faith Presbyterian Hospice and Caring People Nurses truly were angels as moms time neared. Mom's personal team, which included Carmen Villafuerte, Mayte Rivera, Edna, Garcia, Silvia Garza, and Ceci Medina. Ceci was by mother's side almost from the day we brought her home until the day she left, and our family is forever grateful. We would also like to thank Joel Duran, our mom's physical therapist, who helped mom live a more independent life with his techniques and skills, but mostly, for what came to be a wonderful friendship.
