THOMAS DUFFY Obituary
The Memorial Mass for Thomas Oliver ‘Tom' Duffy will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2 PM in St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church located at 1897 W. Main Street, Lewisville, Texas. Tom Duffy was the founder of Christian Community Action (CCA) located in Lewisville and passed away on February 6, 2017 at the age of 75.
In the early 1970s, Tom and his wife Sally were part of a Bible study group discussion that inspired CCA. Starting with the restoration of a nearby widow's home, the group soon took on a number of similar projects in the neighborhood. From those early efforts, CCA has grown into one of the largest private nonprofits in north Texas serving over 9000 individuals annually with food, financial assistance, and essential life skills that prevent homelessness and move people to self-sufficiency by offering a “hand up” instead of a “hand out.” From the founding of CCA, Tom led the organization until his retirement in 2003.
Tom is survived by Sally, and children Patricia, Brian (Wyatta), Mary (Mark), Michael (Heather), and Aaron (Khristen), and 18 grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Veronica (Paul) Iacovelli . He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
All who were involved with CCA and knew Tom and his family are invited to attend his Memorial Mass to celebrate his life and honor his legacy of impacting people through Christian love. More information about Tom Duffy and CCA can be found at ccahelps.org/tomduffy.

I am so sad to hear this news. Tom was one of my favorite people In the whole world. We worked closely together in the 80's when I served on the CCA board. He was a dear, good man. I will remember him fondly forever
