Dear Family,
I was just in Wilmington the middle of March and as always had thoughts of Addie Lee. I visited with the Cooper family at Oakdale Cemetery and had a good cry about family & friends who are no longer here. Addie Lee was one of those friends. My growing up memories of visits back to Wilmington always included a stop by her house on Keaton Avenue and stories about the early days of fun & friendship with the Coopers.
I miss those visits.
Much love,
Alice Cooper

I have such good memories of Addie Lee from visits to Roanoke Rapids to her brother, Robert and his family's home. She loved her nieces and was such fun. It seemed she was much more interested in being with the children than the adults. I also remember visiting with her and her mother in Wilmington--they had a happy life together. It was always a pleasure to see them. I am so glad she had a long wonderful life.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Addie Lee was a bright spirit who inspired her visitor with smiles, questions about the visitor's family, and entertaining stories about her family and of days gone by. She now brightens paradise.

Addie Lee's brother, Robert Gaylord. married Ann Carr who was the sister of my late wife, Mary Daniel Carr. I first met Addie Lee when I was dating Mary Daniel whom I married in 1947. Addie Lee was young at the time, very pretty and had a charming personality. Mary Daniel had been friends with Addie Lee from the 1930s and the friendship continued for the rest of Mary Daniel's life. My friendship started in 1947 and continued until the recent passing of Addie Lee. She had a cheerful disposition throughout her life in spite of many illnesses. She dearly loved all of her relatives and friends and in turn they showed love for her. She will be missed very much by everyone who knew her.

Addie Lee was a dear friend to my parents, Marie & Willard Cooper. I have such fond memories of visiting her on Keaton Avenue every time we were in Wilmington. She had the most wonderful stories to tell about family & friends. I am so sad for your loss but know she is in a better place. She's with all the family she so loved and all those friends who so loved her.
My thoughts & prayers are with you.

I don't suppose there are many still in this world who remember Addie Lee when she was young. I do though, and very well. I came to know her when her brother married my cousin, Ann Carr in the early '40s She was in her 20's then. Addie Lee was a pretty girl, a vivacious, extremely happy young woman. She was always laughing, had a cheerful disposition and was always fun to be around. Addie Lee loved her family and that love was certainly returned for she was revered by all her nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful and devoted daughter. She will be sorely missed by all who love her.

Addie Lee was a sweet and sharp lady with a fantastic sense of humor. I am proud to have met her and I am lucky to have had the opportunity for my little daughter to meet her and be held by her. Though I knew her for such a short time, I will miss her.
